Levi Timothy Gillette, beloved father, brother, uncle, musician, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away on January 30, 2026. He was born on December 2, 1957 and lived a life deeply rooted in faith, music, and love for others.

Music was central to Levi’s life and ministry. He was a devoted member of Howell Community Church, where he faithfully served on the worship Band for over ten years. A gifted and versatile musician, Levi played bass guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, and at times percussion, including the tambourine—always choosing the instrument that best served the song and supported the worship team. His heart for worship was evident in both his musicianship and his quiet dedication.

Beyond the church, Levi enjoyed making music in community settings. He regularly participated in “Pick’n Parlor” nights at The Bard’s Grange, where musicians gathered to play together in fellowship and joy. He also performed multiple times at Albert Music Hall, sharing his musical talents with wider audiences.

Above all, Levi loved the Lord, and his faith guided every part of his life. He also cherished simple pleasures, especially fishing, which brought him peace and reflection.

Levi was a graduate of Lakewood High School, Class of 1976. He spent many years as a hardworking and respected tradesman. He worked as a machine operator at Wheaton’s Glass Company, and later as a mechanic at Strauss Discount Auto, Pep Boys, Freehold Ford, and Midas, where he eventually retired. He was known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Levi was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Gillette and Marjorie Gillette; his wife, Evelyn “Lynne” Gillette and his siblings Deborah Reeves, Fred Gillette, and Dale Gillette.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Leeanne Pennant; Son in Law Shane Pennant. His sister, Tracy Mortimore; his nieces Monique Gillette, Jalisa Mortimore, and Jazmin Mortimore; six great-nephews; 2 stepsons, Eddie McLean, John McLean and his fiancée, Carolyn Henderson.

Levi will be remembered for his gentle spirit, musical gifts, unwavering faith, and the way he brought people together through worship, music, and fellowship. His legacy lives on in the songs he played, the faith he shared, and the love he gave.
