Lena "Lee" Bruno

Lena Bruno, age 67, Brick, NJ Lena (Lee) Bruno died Thursday, September 17, 2020 of liver cancer at Hackensack Meridian Hospital, Brick, NJ with her husband, Michael, by her side. A Memorial Service will be held on October 10, 2020 at Fellowship Chapel, 170 Duchess Lane, Brick, NJ at 11am. Lee was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 20, 1952 to Joseph (Red) and Geneveive (Castaldo) Sicola. Lee and her family moved to East Brunswick in 1957 and she graduated EBHS in 1970. She met her husband, Michael, in 1982 and married 6 months later, on September 11, 1982 in Dobbs Ferry, NY. They moved to Brick in in 2003 where they raised their loving daughter, Justina, who currently resides in Toms River, NJ. For the past 20 years, Lee was employed by Briggs Transportation in Point Pleasant, NJ as an aide to children. Her kindness and compassion were valued by Briggs, other employees, parents, children in her care, and all who knew her. She enjoyed time with family/friends, especially holiday meals. She was a faithful Christian and willing to go to great lengths to help those in need. Lee was also an exceptional baker. Lee was survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael, and their daughter, Justina and her fiancé, Christopher Catney; her sister Ann Marie (Sicola) O’Connor and her husband, Michael of Toms River; a nephew Michael O’Connor and his wife Eileen of Metuchen, NJ, their children Declan and Cait; as well as a niece, Kerry (O’Connor) Farrace and her husband, Cris, of Freehold, NJ and their children, CJ, Nate, and Vito. Lee was predeceased by her brother, Joseph, as well as her father and mother, Red and Genevieve Sicola. Donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607
