Lee Marion Gough (nee Kansky) passed away on October 27, 2023. She was born in Summit, New Jersey and grew up in Hazlet, New Jersey.
She held a number of jobs throughout her lifetime, including at Westward Pharmaceuticals and most recently as a law clerk at Hayt, Hayt, and Landau. Lee took classes at Brookdale Community College, with a focus on business and administration. She was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Middletown, where she also taught Sunday School for some time.
Lee was happiest when spending time with her family. Whether it was summer trips to Wildwood or weekends on Sandy Hook or a Broadway show at Christmas, Lee enjoyed creating memories with the people she loved.
She enjoyed horseback riding, true crime podcasts, fashion, and Bruce Springsteen. She was an avid reader and a brilliant baker, two passions she shared with her daughters. Those who knew Lee understood that she was dependable, caring, and fiercely independent. She never made an appointment or commitment she couldn’t keep, and she never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or important date. No matter what she was doing, Lee looked good doing it.
Lee valued the outdoors and exercise. She loved dogs, and leaves behind two rescues who already feel her absence in the house. Lee was a loving mother, wife, friend, and sister whose loss is felt by all who knew her.
Lee is predeceased by her mother: Elaine Kansky; and her nephews: Derek Bond and Nicholas Kansky Jr.
Surviving is her husband, John Gough; her children: Nicole Gough and Allison Gough; her sister: Lynne Bond (Billy); and her brothers: Gary Kansky (Carolyn) and Nicholas Kansky (Sheila); as well as loving nieces and nephews.
A Lutheran memorial service will take place at King of Kings Lutheran Church on 250 Harmony Road, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 1PM.
