Joy Barker Connelly went to heaven on Friday June 23, 2017 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Trenton and grew up in Hamilton Township. Joy was a graduate from Steinert High School, Hamilton Township. She worked for the State of NJ for over 20 years. She left there 10 years ago for her "happy job" as a waitress at IHOP, Keyport. She loved her co-workers and customers and they became her second family that she loved and cherished.
Joy is predeceased by her father Robert W. Barker
Joy is survived by her son Jonathan Raymond Barker and her daughter Ashley Ann Connelly.
Her Mother Virginia Barnes Barker, her sisters Wanda Bottoms, Pamela Koziczynski, Virginia "Ginny" Barker, brother Robert Barker her ex-husband George Connelly, her grandson and love of her life, Jack Ryan Smith. Joy also leaves behind her beloved nieces, nephews, loving aunt and uncle, cousins and friends.
She loved her co-workers and customers and they became her second family that she loved and cherished. Joy was the best daughter, sister, mother, nana, and waitress who had a way with words and she gave that look that "said it all". She will be greatly missed. Spread your wings and fly high Joy.....
