Josephine Ann Hemsley

Josephine A. Hemsley, 93 of Manasquan, NJ passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at home.

Josephine A. Hemsley was born on June 23, 1931, in Newark, NJ to Martin and Anne Byrne. After graduating from Barringer High School, Josephine went on to pursue a career in insurance, working at Prudential Insurance. Later she had a second career as a product merchandiser.

Outside of work, Josephine was passionate about gardening, cooking, golf, backgammon, and reading. She loved spending time with family and friends and especially working on both the inside and outside of her home. Josephine was known for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and her drive to help anyone who was in need.

Josephine was a devoted spouse to Jack M. Hemsley for 17 years and a loving parent to her son Jack Hemsley.

A funeral service will be held on Friday April 11, 2025. (9:30am visitation and 10am Mass of Christian Burial) at St. Denis Church in Manasquan, NJ.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the VNA staff for their compassionate care.

Josephine will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of family members and friends.
