We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joseph Edward Potaski. He grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey and attended Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1960. Joseph went on to graduate from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1964, followed by 3 Masters Degrees as well as a Doctorate from Widener University.
Joseph worked in the Jackson Township district from 1973-1994 and retired as principal. He served as a respected Graduate Professor at Georgian Court University for 29 years. Among other notable distinctions, he served on the NJAET executive Board for many years.
Joseph, affectionately known as Joe, is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, 2 daughters from a previous marriage Karen and Nancy Potaski, 2 step children Kristen Barnes (Kurtis), Greg Radian (Melissa) and 3 grandchildren Mayahna and Mahjustice Murphy and Landon Amalfa. Joe and Elizabeth enjoyed living between Point Pleasant, New Jersey and Lake City, Florida. Always accessible, he was a phone call or email away unless he was enjoying a spirited game of tennis or embarking on many of his global adventures with his beloved wife.
At Joe’s request there will be no service held and in lieu of flowers you may make a donation to a charity of your choice. Joe will forever in our hearts and remembered with love by all who knew him.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
