John Anthony Rezk

John Anthony Rezk of Wall Township, NJ, passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 25. John was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and has lived in Wall since 2009.

John graduated from Biotechnology High School in Freehold, NJ (2018) and NJIT, New Jersey Institute of Technology, in Newark, NJ (2022), where he attended the Albert Dorman Honors College, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. John also served as the President of NJIT's Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter, where he was a dedicated brother and was awarded SAE's "Brother of the Year" honor in 2021.

During his college summers and after graduating from NJIT, John worked as a lead software developer in his role as Director of Technology for Matrix Sales Group, LLC.

John had a great love for nature, exploration, and backpacking. He fell in love with the mountains and outdoor survival while attending summer camp in Maine during his summer going into 7th grade. He was at his best while carefully planning the details of his next backpacking trip. He loved everything about outdoor exploration, from selecting the perfect gear to sharing the trails and views with family and friends. He also enjoyed his regular walks on many of the local trails and boardwalks. Since graduating from college, John has enjoyed traveling to explore the US and Sweden.

John is survived by his loving family-- parents, Ellie & Tony; brother, Blake; sister, Jacqueline; and the family dog, Louie. John was a devoted son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, and friend. He was loved, adored, admired, and respected by all whose lives he touched. His kind nature, dry sense of humor, and keen intelligence will be greatly missed. He will forever remain close in our hearts.

A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at The Church in Brielle, 821 Riverview Drive, Brielle, New Jersey.
