John M. Paternoster

September 28, 1928 — September 16, 2015

John Paternoster passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. He was born, raised and a lifelong resident of Neptune. He served as a corporal in the Army in the Korean War. John was retired from New Jersey Natural Gas for whom he worked for 38 years. He was actively involved in the American Legion of Neptune and the Italian American Association of Ocean for many years. He loved spending time with family and friends, gardening, volunteering, music and of course, watching the Yankees. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 55 years Anne and by his brother-in-law Al Cholowinski. He will be greatly missed by his two daughters; Barbara de Wysocki and her husband Doug of Tinton Falls and Mary Chinnici and her husband Frank of Neptune; two sisters, Theresa Cholowinski of Neptune, and Peggy Diglio and her husband Jerry of Tinton Falls; his grandchildren; Michael, Carly, Joseph & Vicky, and two great-grandchildren, Travis and Nora, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered 10:30 AM, Saturday Sept. 19th. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1201 Asbury Ave. Asbury Park. Interment will be private in the Br. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ
