Joann J. Musso, 64 of Manasquan, NJ passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Morristown Medical Center on November 6th 2023. That morning the clouds lifted and she was ushered into heaven.


Born on April 3rd, 1959 in Jersey City she grew up in Chatham, NJ and was an accomplished equestrian in the discipline of show jumping. She spent the summers with her family enjoying the beautiful sandy beaches of the Jersey Shore of Point Pleasant Beach. She spoke often of loving to fish with her father in her early years.


Joann began her career as a pioneer in the word processing field having held positions at Warner-Lambert and Nabisco serving as an executive assistant to several departments. Outside of her work, she most proud of being a mother to James and Melissa. She devoted her life to her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren in her later years. Grandma “Peekaboo” was able to light up any room she entered with her larger than life personality and charisma. Along with family, she enjoyed calligraphy, art and was a published author having written two Christian books.


Joann was pre-deceased by her parents Charles and Claire Sadowski of East Hanover, NJ. She is survived by her son James Peters, daughter Melissa Peters and daughter in law Kathryn Peters of Manasquan, NJ. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Courtney Peters and James Peters Jr.


At Joann’s request, a private ceremony was held by her family. A mass will be dedicated in her honor at both Holy Innocents Church in Neptune, NJ and Saint Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to either the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance or the National Kidney Foundation in her name.
