Joan Patricia Vass

Joan Patricia Vass (nee Seaman) 92, died peacefully on November 17, 2023 in Red Bank, NJ. Joan grew up in Newark, NJ and graduated from Eastside High School. She met her husband William P. Vass and they were married in 1957 at St. Casimir's R.C. church in the down neck section of Newark.

Predeceased by her husband Willie of 40 years, her parents Howard and Victoria Seaman, her sister Patricia Micchelli, brother Robert Seaman. She is survived by her loving daughter Yvonne Marie Vass of Shrewsbury Twp.

Joan lived in Kearny, Bricktown, Jackson before eventually residing in Red Bank. She had many jobs, including bank teller for Fidelity Union and Jersey Shore Savings. She also worked as a store clerk at Shoprite in Manchester. Joan loved her many dogs and cats, Pierre, Chi-Chi, Champ, Kitty, Kelly, Boo-Boo and Casey. Joan loved going to concerts and Broadway shows with her daughter. She loved many types of music, from Elvis, Frank Sinatra to KC and the Sunshine Band to country music artists like Toby Keith and Big and Rich. She loved her TV shows like All My Children, Regis & Kathy Lee, Law and Order, Blue Bloods and CSI.

A mass will be offered in Joan's memory on Sunday, April 7th 2024 at 9:30am at: St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, 91 Pulaski Street, Newark, NJ 07105. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MCSPCA.
