Born on March 19, 1963, in Lima, Peru, Jeanne came to the United States when she was ten years old. She loved school and learning, ultimately earning multiple degrees throughout her life. She grew up in West New York, New Jersey, where she graduated from Memorial High School in 1982.

After high school, she moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey, and attended Rutgers University in Piscataway. She graduated from Rutgers with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1987, later earning an Associate Degree in Accounting from Ocean County College and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Stockton College in 2010. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Ocean County College and eventually served as its president.

Jeanne loved volleyball and played for more than forty years, including at Memorial High School—where she also participated in track and field—Rutgers University, and various local volleyball clubs. She worked as a tax preparer for the past 26 years.

Jeanne married the love of her life, Joseph James Lewkowicz, on September 10, 1988. She and “Joey” moved to Toms River, New Jersey, in 1993, where they raised their three daughters. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, attended Grace and Peace Church, and studied God’s Word through Bible studies at both the Presbyterian Church and Grace and Peace in Toms River.

Her family and faith were the joys of her life. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking trips with them and her extended family. She also loved music and could always be found dancing at family gatherings, especially when her favorite song, “Diamond Girl,” was playing.

Jeanne was predeceased by her beloved parents, Oscar A. Bazan Alfaro and Berta Isabel Renteros de Bazan, and her sister, Bertita.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Joseph J. Lewkowicz; her beloved daughters, Nichole Elizabeth Matos and her husband, Anthony Joseph Matos, Melanie Anne, and Jeanne Isabel; her five cherished grandchildren, Gabriel Joseph, Celia Isabell, Wes Charles, Lorenzo Joseph, and Luka James; her loving brothers, Oscar A. Bazan Jr. and his wife, Rosa, and Fredrico Jesus Bazan; her cousin Rosario “Charo” Vasquez; as well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
