Jean Stretavski-Haughey
Feb 4, 1959 June 21, 2017
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Jean Stretavski-Haughey, beloved mother of Patrick Jr., sister of Susan Stretavski (deceased), Nancy Skillender and John Stretavski Jr., former wife of Patrick Haughey Sr., and dear friend to many. Jean was a graduate of Saint Dominic Academy, class of 77, in Jersey City and spent much of her youth there. Following her graduation, she spent years working as a bartender, a clerk at the New York Mercantile Exchange, and traveling the world. She re-located to Point Pleasant Beach in 1993 where she became an accomplished seamstress and owner of Stichin on the Dock of the Bay for many years. Most recently she was a resident of Point Pleasant Boro.
Jean will be remembered as a creative, talented, fun loving, and hard-working individual. She held high expectations for herself and for others. She was generous of heart and possessed the ability to find humor in every situation. Jean found life in gardening beautiful flowers, cooking amazing dinners for others, and creating such gorgeous drapes for her customers and friends. She lived to be a great mother, and that she was. These are the memories that will remain in our hearts. Good bye Jean, we miss the good times.
In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a charitable donation on behalf of Jean Stretavski-Haughey to Bethesda Lutheran Communities (https://bethesdalutherancommunities.org/get-involved/donate/). Jean had a special place in her heart for those with disabilities, and it would be a great honor to help those who help the disabled.
