Janice Kircher, 66, of Manasquan, passed away peacefully after a brief but valiant bout with cancer on June 11, 2024 at Riverview Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving husband and her three loving sons.

Janice will be remembered for her kind heart, generous ways, and infectious smile. She was an accomplished baker, especially with her delicious zucchini and carrot cakes. She was the life of the party and always let you know it with her “Whoop, Whoop!” Janice loved her trips to Florida, especially when it involved cruising down US 1 to her favorite place, Key West. She will be missed by her Key West family of bartenders & musicians especially Niki and Alphonse. In addition, Janice was a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Manasquan Volunteer Engine Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Manasquan VFW Post 1838. Most of all, she loved her family.
Janice is survived by her devoted husband David W. Kircher; her beloved sons and daughter-in-law's: David (Christie), Kevin (Elizabeth), and Stephen (Kristina): her cherished grandchildren Mia, Kyle, Audrey, Sylvia, and William; her siblings Cynthia Pastula and Walter Shumlas, and her countless friends who she considered family. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Cecelia and Walter Shumlas.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday June 21, 2024 at St. Denis church in Manasquan, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manasquan Volunteer Engine Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary or Big Hearts to Little Hearts.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Janice brightened the world with hers, however short it may have been.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
