Janet Soos Milano, age 88 of Allenwood, NJ, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on March 3, 2022 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. Janet was born in Perth Amboy and grew up in Hopelawn before she married and moved to Avenel in 1954.
Janet was an avid musician, playing accordion and piano professionally for over fifty years. She and her husband ran Milano Music Studios in Avenel for 45 years. After moving to Farmingdale NJ, she continued teaching privately. Janet was also employed for several years at KR Electronics, Webcraft and Prudential.
Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach and attending Bible study groups at her church.
Janet was predeceased by her husband, Peter Milano in 1972 and her daughter, Elizabeth Sauer in 2020. Janet will be sorely missed by her children: son, Frank Milano and wife, Karen of Plainfield; daughter, Pauline Sorge and her husband, Scott of Farmingdale; son, Peter Milano Jr. and his wife, Donna of Readington; six grandchildren: Matthew Milano and his girlfriend, Mia Orazi; Amy Merrill and her husband, Alex and great grandson, Beckham;; Jessie Sorge and her boyfriend, Chris Wickstead; Luke Sorge and his wife, Julissa; Kelly Torode and her husband, Chris and great grandson, Liam; Michael Williams.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Janet’s life on June 4, 2022 at 12 noon at Immanuel Bible Church, 1244 West Farms
Road in Howell, NJ 07731. A repast will follow the service at the church hall. Contributions in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society (donate3.cancer.org) or the ASPCA (aspca.org).
