Janet Ruth Kunz DeNigris, 85, of Montville NJ, passed away peacefully at her familys summer home in Spring Lake Heights, NJ on March 25, 2020 with her loving family at her side. She is reunited in Heaven with the love of her life and husband Michael and with their loving son Mark. She is survived by her 2 devoted children-son Chris and his wife Kathy, her daughter Carol and her husband Charles Soranno, her brother Art Kunz and wife Martha, sister Grace and husband Bill Murtha, sister-in-law Rosemarie and husband Tom DaCostoLobo , cherished granddaughters Ashley and Sofia and her dear friends Angela Soranno of Spring Lake Heights, Marie Zullo of Pa, Ken and Connie Zeisman of Fl and Scott and Christine Russell of Montville.
Born in Orange, NJ on February 5th 1935 to Arthur and Rose Kunz, Janet was the middle of 3 children. She graduated from East Orange High School in 1953 and joined the workforce for several years prior to marrying Mike in 1958. Moving to Montville in 1968, Janet was essential in the establishment of the new family business while raising their young children. They were parishioners of St. Pius X Church and she was very active in the PTA, DARE Program and recreation programs in Montville. They were previous members of Rockaway River CC and also split her full life at their summer home near Lake Wallenpaupack in Tanglwood Lakes, PA and Palm City, Fl where she enjoyed golf, boating and her many cherished friendships.
She was a devoted wife, mother, educator and role model. She loved to play golf, going to the beach, was an avid reader, loved history and architecture, had a passion for gardening and the beauty of flowers and was enthusiastically active in local and national Republican politics. She looked forward to all holidays and treasured the family gatherings. Later in life Janet discovered and refined her artistic skills and emerged as a talented painter. Her beautiful paintings have brought joy to many of her friends and family and will for years to come.
Janets family is incredibly thankful for the nurses and hospice caregivers that provided and cared for her during the past several months helping to make her transition comfortable and serene.A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
