James Andrew Sheerin, Jr.

James Andrew Sheerin, Jr., age 73, of Manasquan, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. James, or Jim as he was known to family and friends, was born on July 29, 1952 to James Sheerin, Sr. and Doris Sheerin (nee Hickey) in Verona, NJ. After graduating from Villanova University in 1974, Jim pursued a career in information technology, working at Schering-Plough and eventually Merck & Co. for over 30 years.

Outside of work, Jim was passionate about traveling, reading, sports, and his alma mater. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at many concerts and sporting events over the years. Jim spent many summers at the Jersey Shore, eventually calling Manasquan his permanent home. There, he enjoyed boating, fishing, and surfing.

Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lorraine, their daughter Jenna, son-in-law Luke, grandsons Maxwell and Leo, and a brother, Steven. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Doris. A celebration of life is planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to pancreatic cancer research.
