James passed away peacefully at home Sunday morning, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Long Branch and was a life long resident of the Highlands.
James served in the Army from 1948-1952 and was stationed in Korea during his service.
James was employed by the Highlands Post Office for thirty one years, before retiring in 1985. "Honey" was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed his extended stays at his property "the woods" in PA. He also enjoyed building things, play station and bowling.
James is predeceased by his wife Mary in 1995. He is survived by his children: Sherl Kurtanick of Highlands, William and his wife Jill of Brick, Louis and his wife Penny of Mesa, AZ and Barry and his fiancée Patty of Atlantic Highlands. His brothers and sisters;
Howard, Ronald, Billy, Judy, Sandra and Linda. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in James memory to the
