James Franklin Langenberger Jr, passed away on Friday, January 15th at the age of 78. A former Brielle Fire Chief, first aid squad member, and retired Borough official, Jim spent over 50 years in volunteer service to his neighbors and the community he deeply loved. Graduating from Metuchen High School in 1960, he held many jobs over the years, and retired as a technician from Sears after 40 years of service. In his younger days, Jim could be found racing stock cars, or on the back of his motorcycle. But as he got older, he learned to appreciate a quiet afternoon fishing with his best friends. His commitment to the town of Brielle, and his desire to leave his small part of the world a better place kept him busy over the decades. But his love for his wife and family were what brought him joy. Jim is survived by his sister Amy, wife Marjorie, children Gene, John, and Josh, his grandchildren and great grand daughter. He will ultimately be laid to rest beside his mother Arlene and father James in the Memorial Garden at the Church of Brielle. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be sent to the Church of Brielle.
