James Vaughn Cali

James Vaughn Cali 13, of Brielle, NJ passed away on January 27th 2024 at Jersey Shore University Hospital.

James was born on June 8th 2010 at Monmouth Medical Center. James attended Brielle Elementary where he was a member of the school baseball team. He had a love of skiing and was a member of the Hunter Mountain Slopestyle Competition team. He was an active participant in the Jersey Shore SE bike club. He was also passionate about other hobbies, such as, surfing, fishing, skateboarding, baseball card collecting, dirt biking, music, photography & fixing engines. James was a pet lover and had a collection of animals including his dogs Copper and Miss Cookie and his mouse Larry. Throughout his life he had a collection of pets including fish, hermit crabs, mice and rats. James shared a unique interest in history and was an avid collector of World War I & II memorabilia.

James is survived by his parents Jim and Pam and his sisters Lauren and Jennifer.

Currently, there are no plans for a service or celebration of life.

James only graced us for a short period of time, but he lived a full and active life. He was always on the go looking for new adventures with his various groups of friends. At home, his presence will be tough to fill, he was always engaging us on his latest endeavors, chatting us up and playing with his pets. He was larger than life and touched many lives both young and old. We hope his memory will live on in each of us. Even in death he touched lives he never met with his organ donation to the Sharing Network, where he was able to save 4 more lives.

Pam, Lauren, Jennifer and I will miss him dearly, there will be a hole in our hearts for the loss of our son and brother. God has taken my best friend, his mother’s bright light and a great son, but we will never forget the joy and happiness he gave all of us. If there is snow in heaven enjoy the powder and “Go Big Buddy”.
