Jacqueline Chmielewski

August 6, 1931 — August 2, 2024

Jacqueline Chmielewski, born August 6, 1931, passed away in Middletown, New Jersey, on August 2, 2024, just days before her 93rd birthday. Jacqueline was a woman of extraordinary strength and indomitable spirit. Her life was marked by her resilience, her unwavering dedication to her family, and her vibrant personality.

She is survived by her four children: Larry and his spouse Maria, who reside in France; Laura, living in California; Lee and her spouse Eric, who have made New Jersey their home; and Gary and his spouse Melissa, who live in Chicago.

She took immense pride in her role as a mother, but her love extended even further to her five grandchildren: Charlie, Henry, Jacob, Ethan, and Arianna. Jacqueline's eyes would light up at the mention of her grandchildren, and she reveled in every moment spent with them, offering them not just affection but care, wisdom and joy.

Jacqueline was known for her lively nature, particularly in her spirited debates with her son-in-law, Eric. These passionate exchanges were a testament to her sharp wit and her enjoyment of engaging conversation.

Jacqueline also had a special place in her heart for her cat, Smokey, whom she affectionately called Bo Bo. Her love for her feline companion reflected the tenderness and warmth she brought to all her relationships.

In her final years, Jacqueline was cared for by Lee and Eric in New Jersey, where she continued to be a source of strength and love. She will be laid to rest in Calumet City, Illinois, beside her beloved husband, Howard.

Jacqueline's legacy of strength, passion, and unwavering love will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends and in the stories shared about her remarkable life.
