Isabel Millicent Wood Freyre, 88, of Monroe Township passed away on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at Manor By the Sea in Ocean Grove with her family at her side. Born in Lawrence, New York she previously resided in Freehold, Toms River and Monroe Township. Millie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Spotswood where she sang in the Choir and was a member of the woman's group. She studied art at Cooper Union School of Arts, NY. Millie was a longtime supporter of the arts being a member of the Freehold Arts Society and the Ocean County Artists Guild. She was an accomplished Oils and Watercolorists.She is predeceased by her husbands, George Stansbury Pope (d. 1952), Rene Octavius Freyre (d. 1994); 3 sons, George, Roger and Rene (Skip) as well as 2 brothers, Russell, Samuel; a sister, Evelyn and a granddaughter, Loraine. She is survived by her daughters, Robin Grant of Neptune, Jacqueline Burbank of Monroe Township; 6 grandchildren, Gayle, Sheila, Nicolas, Daniel, Jesse, James and 3 great-grandchildren, Steven, Sydney and Alexander.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Spotswood Church of God, 18 Clayton Avenue, Monroe Township, NJ 08831 at 1:00 PM (off of Spotswood-Englishtown Road).
