Irene Supko

Irene Supko, age 82, of Oceanport NJ, passed away May 13, 2023 at Jersey Shore Medical Center with her brother at her side.

Irene was born on June 22, 1940 in Shenandoah PA and grew up in Newark and later moved to South Plainfield, NJ. She graduated South Plainfield High School and received a BA from Rutgers University. Irene was employed by PSEG in the accounts management department from which she retired. She resided in Scotch Plains and later moved to her dream home in Oceanport.

Irene’s love of history inspired her to travel extensively through Europe, Mexico, South America, Caribbean Islands and South Africa. She visited all but three states in the USA. She loved reading, gardening, working on her home and being with her family and friends.

Irene is survived by her brother Michael, his wife Diane, their son Michael and his wife Jennifer and their two children, Amelia and Michael. Irene also leaves behind her late brother Peter’s wife Anne and their two children, Cathryn and Alexander.

Irene is predeceased by her parents Peter and Tekla, and her brother Peter.

At her request, Irene’s ashes were buried with her parents during a private Christian burial ceremony. A Celebration of Life will take place in July.
