Helen Malatak Doeler of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2018.
Born and raised in Nesquehoning, PA, she moved to the New Brunswick area to attend secretarial school. She married John Jack Doeler of South River where they lived and raised their family before retiring and moving to Toms River. Jack predeceased her in 1991.
She had a beautiful alto singing voice and sang at many charitable events from a young age. She was a long-time member of the Imperial Chorus of South River singing at concerts and had the opportunity to perform on tour in Ireland with the Chorus and the Imperial Band.
The church was her second family no matter where she lived. She is past president of Church Women United Toms River area unit, a member of the St. Lukes Council, a regular volunteer at church functions and always sang in the choirs.
She loved to travel and had the opportunity to embark on a heritage pilgrimage overseas to learn more about her ancestry and discover and meet unknown family. She became a member of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society, a cultural organization supporting the culture of Eastern Slavic people living in the Carpathian Mountains of East Central Europe.
Mrs. Doeler is retired from the Brown Boveri Corporation of North Brunswick.
Survived by her children, Kerry Stachowski (Joe) of Wall, New Jersey, Brian Doeler of Wesley Chapel, Florida and Jeffery Doeler (Susan) of Kennewick, Washington, a sister, Margaret Margie Bonner of Millersville, Maryland and predeceased by her sister, Mary Schulter of East Brunswick
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, November 17th at Christ Episcopal Church in the chapel, 415 Washington St., Toms River, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service in the church at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, November 19th at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Christ Episcopal Church.
