Harold "Rock" Manson, Jr.

March 10, 1956 — January 1, 2022

Harold “Rock” Manson Jr, 65, of Manasquan passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of January 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and his dog Murphy. Rock was born on March 10, 1956, to Harold and Margaret “Jo” Manson. Raised in Manasquan, what Rock remembered and cherished the most about his parents was their dedication to their community. Rock was the beloved husband to Peggy. They were best friends for 45 years and husband and wife for 38 years. Rock and Peggy raised two sons, Scott and Ryan, who grew up to follow in many of Rock’s footsteps. Rock was an avid fisherman and sports lover, which he passed along to his boys. Rock also passed along to them his love of golf at an early age while they were living in California. After several years, Rock and his family returned home to Manasquan, where both of his sons were first introduced to his love of Manasquan football. During the off-season, Rock channeled his free time into perfecting his yard and garden. He loved planting seasonal bulbs and sharing their growth with his grandchildren. Rock was a caring and compassionate man who always knew how to find the good in people and made everyone feel important. He was employed for 22 years at TPC Jasna Polana in Princeton. During those years he enjoyed building strong friendships with both his coworkers and members at the club. He was a warrior through and through, and always walked like and man and played like a warrior. Rock was preceded by his parents, his father-in-law, Frank Jordan, and his son, Ryan Manson. His life will be cherished by his wife Peggy; his son Scott Manson and his wife Katelyn, his granddaughters, Maeve and Emmie; his daughter-in-law Kerri Manson, granddaughter Adelynn and grandson Connor; his loving sisters Joanne and husband Rev David Cotton, Kathe and her husband Jerry Keil; his mother-in-law Ronnie Jordan and her husband Cal Bryant; along with many nieces and nephews. Unfortunately, due to COVID, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rock Manson Trust, 125 Fletcher Ave, Manasquan, NJ 08736. This fund has been established for his dearly loved grandchildren’s future education.
