Gerardo “Jerry” Restaino Jr., passed away unexpectedly on February 16th, 2021 at the age of 68. Jerry grew up in Hazlet, NJ with his family and attended Raritan Highschool where he was an all-American athlete. Although Jerry loved all sports he was especially partial to football and his teammates who he spoke of often and loved dearly. Later in life Jerry moved to Brick, NJ where he resided for almost 40 years. Jerry worked for Tuscan Dairy farms for most of his life before they closed their doors in 2006. After this he continued to work for bus companies in the area, he had an affinity for working with children and was know as the “happy bus driver” and would often sing silly songs to the children and talk about their days. Jerry worked for Jays bus service at the time of his death and is remembered fondly by all his coworkers. Besides work there is nothing that brought Jerry more joy than talking to or spending time with his son TJ and girlfriend Kaela, nephew Anthony, the family dog Bella, or being at his favorite place in the world Island Beach fishing the day away with his wife.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 28 years Tammy Restaino, Son Thomas (TJ) Restaino, Brothers Anthony (Stacy)and Dennis(Arleen) Restaino, Sister Donna(Jim) Restaino-Calamia, Nephew Anthony Restaino, and partner in crime Bella the husky. He is predeceased by his parents Gerardo Sr and Dolores Restaino, and beloved brother Joseph Restaino.
There is a memorial mass for Jerry Monday February 22nd, 2021 at 10:00am the mass will be held at St. Dominic’s Church located at 250 Old Squan road Brick NJ 08724.
All who knew Jerry are welcome and encouraged to come say goodbye along with his family.
