George H. Baron

George Henry Baron, 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Born November 11, 1946 in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Beulah (Santee) and Rene Baron. After a youth spent in Passaic, NJ, he lived the next 45 years in Clifton, NJ before retiring to Holiday City at Berkeley in Toms River, NJ in 2005. George was a caring and loving man, always kind to others and "there to help" when needed. He worked for many years as an independent house painter and was a most reliable employee of McDonalds as a maintenance man. He was an avid reader with an impassioned interest in the history of the kings and queens of Europe, especially the British monarchs. He also loved gardening and was famous for all the vegetables he grew. George enjoyed watching Judge Judy and competitive cooking shows on TV and was a lifelong Dionne Warwick fan. Although predeceased by his sister, Celia (Baron) VanderGroef in 2006, George is survived by his brother, Stanfred Baron, his sisters Corene (Baron/Hunt) Garvey and Shirley (Baron) Koshgarian and her husband Stephen, and his brother-in-law, Leonard VanderGroef. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews to whom he was a loving and special Uncle: Dawn VanderGroef, Denise (VanderGroef) Caruth, Leah Hunt, William Hunt, Stephen Koshgarian, and Seth Koshgarian. George will be missed by all and will live forever in our hearts and thoughts. His life will be celebrated at a private family gathering.
