Gary Pakrul, 62 of Eatontown passed away on April 27th, 2013 from complications of colon cancer. Gary was born in Rahway on May 30th, 1950.
He graduated from Rahway High School in 1969. Immediately after graduation, Gary enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent the next twenty years serving his country. He was a proud and decorated Vietnam Veteran and served in country from 1969 to 1970 with the 823rd Red Horse Unit. Serving in Vietnam was Gary’s proudest accomplishment and he was always involved with the local Vietnam Veterans groups and events to honor his brothers. Gary had a great sense of humor and loved to surf fish on the Jersey Shore. He will be remembered as a man who loved his country and for his kind spirit and compassionate heart. Gary was preceded in death by his father Edmund and his mother Helen.
Gary will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors with a date yet to be announced. Rest in peace Gary, for you will always be remembered and dearly missed.
