Elizabeth Marie Pfister

Elizabeth Marie Pfister, 97, of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, October 6th 2017. Marie was the daughter of William John and Elizabeth Regina Watkins. She was born and raised in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ where she attended St. Peters Elementary School, and Point Pleasant Beach High School. Marie received her nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing and attended Jersey City State College. Marie was a distinguished member of the Point Pleasant Beach community. She served as G. Harold Antrim Elementary Schools beloved nurse where she spent 25 amazing years bringing smiles, spreading kindness, and offering saltines to fix even the tiniest of conundrums. In addition, she was also an active member of the Point Pleasant Beach Beautification Committee, Deborah Hospital Foundation, Point Pleasant Beach Historical Society, Point Pleasant Beach Womans Club, Fire Company #1 Womens Auxiliary, Election Challenger, and a volunteer at St. Gregorys Pantry. She took great pride in her hometown of Point Pleasant Beach. Marie was a proud and devout Catholic. She was an active and loving parishioner at St. Peters Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, and the Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed afternoons gazing at the inlet, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Marie is predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Henry Pfister, sister, Patricia Meeker, and brother, William Watkins. Marie is survived by the loves of her life: her son Thomas Pfister and significant other Antoinette Barnes, grandson Kevin Thomas Pfister, granddaughter Kathryn Pfister Woods and husband James Woods, and great grandson Henry Thomas Woods. She is also survived by her brother Richard E. Watkins, and his wife Jane Watkins, along with many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Gregorys Pantry of Point Pleasant Beach in Maries memory. A memorial mass with be held in honor of Marie November 4th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Peters Church 406 Forman Ave. Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
