Elizabeth "Betty" Harrison AGE: 93 • Spring Lake Heights Elizabeth "Betty" Harrison, 93, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 peacefully in her own home with close family by her side. Elizabeth was born in Paterson. She is predeased by her parents, Martin and Anna Tunis; her sister, Marion Johnson; her brother, Edward Tunis; her first husband, Edwin Wisijohn; and her second husband, Porter Harrison. She resided in Spring Lake Heights for over 60 years. Betty was hardworking, and chose to retire in her mid-80s after working as a waitress at The Colts Neck Inn, The Forte, and Eggimans, and later as an attendant at the Belmar Fishing Marina. She was an avid animal lover, fan of country music, and known for her witty sense of humor. She is survived by three children, Patricia Kalemba of Brick, Nancy Evans of Midlothian, VA, and Judi Burdge of Spring Lake Heights. She also is survived by six grandchildren, Sharon, Greg, Tracey, Kristin, Courtney, Brooke; and 6 great-grandchildren, Kelly, Mark, Eric, Benjamin, Katie, and Carly. Following Betty's wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monmouth County SPCA, in memory of Betty's love of animals.
