Elbert (Eric) G. Ericsson, 87, of Barnegat Light and Long Beach Township, NJ passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center. He was born in Jersey City NJ and lived for many years in Linden, Fanwood and Scotch Plains, NJ. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was graduated from Linden High School and Rider College. Eric was Owner and President of Ericsson Associates and Ericsson Marine Associates, private investigation firms which he ran with his wife, Dorothy. He was also VP of Danninger, Inc, a real estate firm. A talented and avid sailor since childhood, Eric traveled extensively with his loving wife Dorothy on their boat "Marigold" from the Bahamas to New England well into his 80's. Eric was a founding Commodore of the Barnegat Inlet Yacht Club, and served on the Board of Directors of the Marine Trawlers Owners Association.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Donna Ericsson (Tom Bacus), Richard Ericsson (Frances Dalton), Susan Salvador (Frank Salvador) and Thomas Ericsson (Alexandra Reh); seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be interred at the Br. General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ
