Doree E. Labor

Doree E. Labor — beloved mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, Gram, Jellybean and GiGi, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026 in Manahawkin, New Jersey. She was 94.

Born April 25, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Walter Labor and Elsie Miller, Doree is survived by her children: Doree Munetz, Dawn Watson (Paul), and Diane Sangree. She also leaves five grandchildren: Ashley Ritter (Fred or "Carl"), Katherine Welsford (Jon), Jake, Sean Kenny (Amanda), and Doree Munetz (Nigel); and eight great‑grandchildren: Joel, Aiden, Emma, Scarlet, Levi, Willa, Rosie, and Freddie.

Comfort is found in knowing she is reunited with her parents and siblings, Hazel, Sonny, and Thomas, who preceded her in death.

Doree loved her half‑gallon of ice cream wrapped in a towel so her hands didn't get cold, being by the water, playing bingo, and roller skating. She delighted in playing tricks on her family — often swiping pies and plants — and always danced to her own tune. She cared deeply for her fur babies, Penelope and Jax, who were an important part of her daily life.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Popcorn Park Animal Refuge, 1 Humanes Way, Forked River, New Jersey 08731, in recognition of her love for animals.
