Donald R. Newby, age 67, died peacefully at home on February 8, 2017 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Donald was born on September 10, 1949 in Neptune, NJ and graduated from Wall High School in 1967. Soon after, he joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Forrestal during the Vietnam War era. Following his military service, he spent many years as an iron worker, while pursuing his love of fishing and obtaining his boat captain license.
Surviving are his loving wife and caregiver, Peggy Newby of Wall, NJ; his daughters Lisa Gabriele of Wall and Caron (Scott) Kamin of Media, PA; his sister Joan Fleming; four grandchildren, John, Jeremy, Marissa and Matthew; and his devoted nieces and nephews.
Donald is predeceased by his parents, Franklyn and Edna Newby, and his brothers John and Robert Newby.
The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers from Meridian at Home for their devotion to Donald over the last nine years; and Family & Children’s Service.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
