Dolores (Dee) Twaddell, 82, of Manasquan died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center after a brief illness. A graduate of Hood College, Dee was born in Newark and lived for 32 years in Westfield. She was a summer resident of Manasquan since 1941, and spent every summer since then enjoying good times with family and friends on Potter's beach. Dee and her husband Gordon moved to Manasquan to live year-round in their beach front home in 1995.
Dee served for many years as a municipal court mediator in Westfield, Wall and Belmar. In Union County, she advocated for individual children in foster care placements as well as an investigator for a family court judge in child custody cases.
Dee was predeceased by her beloved parents William Rossetti and Gertrude (nee Arthur) Rossetti. Left to cherish her memory is Gordon, her husband of 59 years, as well as her three children: Gordon W Twaddell of Millersville, MD, Jan Andrews (Mark) of Liverpool, NY and Jill Twaddell (Victor Fleck) of Avenel, NJ. She also leaves two granddaughters, Megan and Corinne Andrews.
There will be no calling hours nor formal funeral services according to the wishes of the deceased. The family will celebrate her life privately. Donations in Dee's memory can be made to the Manasquan Public Library, 55 Broad St., Manasquan, NJ 08736.
