Diane Maltese age 76, of Whiting NJ passed away peacefully on February 11th at Community Medical Center (Tom's River), surrounded by her daughter and loving family.
Born on July 10th, 1948, in Newark, NJ Diane was the daughter of Howard and Josephine Manegold. She grew up in Edison alongside her four sisters.
Diane is survived by her loving adoring husband Anthony Maltese of Whiting; her beloved daughter, Dorinda Alevritis of Whiting; and her sisters Jo-Ann Carney, Linda Buli and Arlene Towers; and countless nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Constantine ("Dino") Alevritis; and her sister, Ramona Perkins.
A devout Christian, Diane was deeply involved in her faith community. She attended retreats, worked closely with missionaries, supported various charities/causes, and most notably taught Sunday School. She took great joy in preparing lessons well in advance, eager to see the excitement in her students' eyes.
Diane cherished time spent with her daughter Dorinda-whether breaking bread and savoring her favorite dish "steak and lobster," binge-watching their favorite series and playing five hundred rummy. She also had a passion for travel and enjoyed visiting historic places with her sisters and loving husband.
Although Diane faced many adversities throughout her life, she met each one with an unwavering intensity and commitment to everything. She truly embodied the spirit of a life well lived and touched all those who have known her and left lasting memories of a lifetime.
A remembrance of life celebration is being held for family and close friends on February 22, 2025 at 2 pm at Huntington Park Homeowners Association Clubhouse, 1 Mayfair Court, Hillsborough NJ.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure-she is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
