Denise V. Thomas (Casal) 71, of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway location. Born in Holguín, Cuba on September 23, 1944, she grew up in New York City and Old Bridge. She graduated from Matawan High School and then began her career working in New York City. She met her husband, Edward G. Thomas in 1963 and after a two year courtship were married at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in October 24, 1965. They were one day shy of celebrating their 50th anniversary when she passed. Settling in Old Bridge they raised five children. Denise was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was predeceased by her parents, Flora and Michael Casal. She is survived by her husband, Ed; her children: Kim Lowry and her husband Patrick: Michael and his wife Jenn; Lauren Rullo and her husband Vinnie; Eddie and his partner Mike McCabe; Jessica Slaughter and her husband Rob; Her grandchildren, Alyssa Lowry,(fiancé, Sean O’Brien), Kristen Lowry Magnotti (David), Patrick Lowry, Jr., Gracie Lowry, Jack Lowry, Katie Thomas MacConnell (Scott), Suzie Thomas, Charlie Thomas, Madison Pugsley, Tyler Pugsley, Michael Thomas, Carissa Kay, Vinnie Rullo, Heather Rullo, Cindy Rullo, Raquel Rullo, Ethan Slaughter, Mason Slaughter; great-grandson, Leo Magnotti; sister, Carmela Brady (Tom), Nephews: David Brady (Karen), Sean Brady (Amanda), David Thomas (Elaine), Ken Thomas (Tanya); niece, Karen Thomas (Marco) and many other relatives and friends. Denise’s greatest pride was her family. Her family will spend every day of their lives remembering all of the happy times with Denise and knowing she is watching over them. We will rejoice in the time we had with her and cherish those memories. There will be a Mass of the Resurrection, Friday, October 30th.10:30 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Old Bridge. More information regarding the Repast will be given at the Funeral Mass.
