Darby L. Diedrich, born on August 2nd, 1939, originally from St. Cloud, Minnesota, was in the presence of his loving family when he passed on April 15th, 2021 at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his parents; Florentine and Leonard, and survived by his brothers; Dennis and David, and sisters; Diane and Donna. Darby had three children with his first wife, Kay; Dawn Moreski, Dana Herbert, and Darby L. Diedrich II. In 2001, Darby married his life partner, Anita Carr Virga, and by marriage he gained one son; Anthony Virga and wife Chris Virga, and daughter Stacy Martin and husband Gary Martin. He was a beloved grandfather to twelve grandchildren; Devin, Deyanna, Darby III, Alexis, Braeden, Corlee, Matthew, Zach, Alex, Morgan, Cassie, and Hailey.
Darby served his country proudly as a part of the United States Airforce, and his biggest love was for his family and working at John Cooper Panels. He most enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, Sunday dinners with the Martin’s, and his hunting and fishing trips with his brothers in Minnesota.
Born an athlete and with a love for sports, he dedicated himself as his son’s, Darby II, coach and mentor. He played an intricate part in the creation of the Mount Olive Hockey League.
Darby, Dad, Pop, Husband, and Brother will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and always loved by all.
A private service for the family will be held on Thursday, April 22 at 1:00pm at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery & Mausoleum, to honor his life in loving memory.
