Daniel Paul “Dale” Wainright, 96, passed away on September 1, 2016. His wife, Elizabeth Ann Pieper Wainright, 91, passed away just hours before on August 31, 2016. They resided in Spring Lake Heights and were married on April 26, 1942 at St James Catholic Church, Springfield, NJ; thus, they enjoyed over 74 years of marriage. Dale retired in 1984 from Red Bank Regional High School where he was an automotive instructor. Previous to this, he owned Wainright’s Garage in Spring Lake Heights. He served in the Army during WW II. Elizabeth “Betty” Wainright retired in 1987 from Monmouth College in West Long Branch. They were communicants of St. Catherine’s Church, Spring Lake. They are survived by their daughter, Elizabeth Vermette of Manchester; and their son, Dr. William Wainright and his wife Linda of Old Lyme, Connecticut, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dale is also survived by two sisters: Hazel Butler and Helen Meyer, both of Red Bank. Betty is also survived by a brother, Jack Pieper, of Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 29,2016 at St Catherine’s Church, Spring Lake, with interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
