Cynthia Marie Smayda

Cynthia Marie Smayda, 50, of Howell, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2026.

Born Cynthia Marie Behnke on August 22, 1975, in Hoboken, New Jersey, Cyndi was the beloved daughter of Joyce Miller-Grampp and Siegfried E. Behnke. She graduated from Middletown North High School and went on to build a career in sales.

Outside of work, Cyndi had a passion for crafting and art. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially attending her son Tyler's music concerts. Cyndi was truly a ray of sunshine, known for her loving and generous heart, wonderful sense of humor, and deep compassion for animals—especially her beloved miniature schnauzer, Leo.

Above all, Cyndi was a devoted mother to her son, Tyler James Smayda, who was the greatest joy of her life.

She is survived by her son, Tyler James Smayda; her mother, Joyce Miller-Grampp; her father, Siegfried E. Behnke; her sisters, Tiffany Powell and Jessica Quinn; her nephews, Jameson Quinn and Connor Powell; and her niece, Kaylee Powell.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cyndi will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
