Cora Marie Zink Pederson, 93, from Wall, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday January 31, 2021. Cora was born and raised in East Orange, NJ. She raised her family there until 1965 when she moved down to the Jersey Shore with her 3 children. There was no place she loved more than the beach and would visit Manasquan every summer with her family until she made it her permanent home.
Cora is predeceased by her parents, Grace and William Zink, her brother Robert Manning whom she adored, and her husband and one true love Pete.
Cora is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Beth and Cliff Corby of Wall Township, Mark Pederson of Wall, and Bill and Laura Pederson of Long Branch. She was a proud and loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and great grandmother of 12, with 2 more expected this summer. They brought her so much joy.
Cora loved her family more than anything. To those close to her she was known as Mimi. She was an extremely talented, award winning artist and an avid swimmer, spending many hours swimming laps at the Atlantic Club. She loved animals, especially cats, and dedicated her life to helping rescue strays. Her second love was the beach, where she spent most of her free time and every summer making memories that would last a lifetime. She had the best sense of humor. Her laugh was contagious. She left a lasting impression on anyone that knew her. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family. Her family is particularly grateful to her friends Dory and BJ and her caregiver Kim, who were always there by her side.
Jersey Shore Cremation is in charge of arrangements. Due to COVID the family has chosen not to hold any services at this time and plans to celebrate her life this summer with a party at the beach. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.
