Colleen Jester

Colleen "Poe" Jester, age 93, died peacefully on August 20, 2017 at Preferred Care Nursing Home, Wall, New Jersey. Born April 20, 1924 in Villa Grove, Illinois to Glenn Ellsworth and Blanche (ne Coventry) Heiland. Grew up in Findlay, Illinois. Moved to Decatur, Illinois in 1942. Married to Wilbia Jester from 1958-1970. After forty years of service she retired from Ameren llinois in 1991. Worked at Decatur Dental Facility Research (evaluation) Services. Volunteered for Meals on Wheels for thirty years retiring in January 2016. Colleen enjoyed traveling, bowling, and golf. Predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Blanche Heiland, brothers, Shelly, Berkley and Billy Heiland, sister, Karen Van Denburg, sister-in-laws, Quinta Heiland, Lula Heiland, Patricia Heiland, Elaine Heiland, brother-in-law, Gordon Ekiss, niece, Karen (Ekiss) Goff, nephew, Terry Heiland. Colleen is survived by brother, Kerwin Heiland and wife Sue of Florida, sisters, Veronica Barnfield of New Jersey, Yvonne Ekiss of Florida, brother-in-law, Paul Van Denburg of New Mexico, sister-in-law, Mae Heiland of Ohio, many nieces and nephews and a dear friend Carol Glenn who helped her in her final years.
