Claire M. Baran

Claire Marie Baran (née Fedder) of Avon-by-the-Sea, who most recently resided at Sunnyside Manor in Wall Township, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017, at the age of 90. She was born and raised in the Wilkes Barre area of Pennsylvania. Claire was a communicant of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, Avon-by-the-Sea. She volunteered over 4000 hours at Jersey Shore Medical Center earning the recognition of Volunteer of the Year. She was an avid crocheter, creating hundreds of afghans and Christmas stockings for beloved friends and family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Diane M. Capron and her husband Tom of Avon-by-the-Sea, and Joan M. Yoda and her husband Wayne of Wall Township. Claire was also a devoted and proud grandmother of Carrie Capron of West Long Branch, Casey Capron of Orlando, Florida; Craig Capron and his girlfriend, Chelsea Brown, of Austin, Texas; Christian Capron and his wife Tracy of Virginia Beach; and Chris Yoda of Wall. She was an extremely proud great-grandmother of Henry Capron of Virginia Beach. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph J. Baran; grandson, Kevin Alexander Yoda; parents Mary (née Sipper) Fedder and John D. Fedder; brother Joseph A. Fedder; and sister, Theresa M. Fedder. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Avon-by-the-Sea.
