Carol Ann Tombs, 71, of Brick, passed away Friday surrounded by her loving and adoring family. Carol was a retired Brick Township elementary school teacher. Mrs. Tombs was born in Neptune Township, grew up in Springfield, and later moved to Brick, NJ.
Carol was predeceased by her loving parents George and Alice Mihlon and her loving husband Edward Tombs, who passed away in 2014. Surviving are her children Christopher Tombs Sr. and his wife Debra, grandson Christopher Jr.; Laura Bell (Tombs) and her husband Jeffrey, granddaughter Karina; and Michael Tombs and his wife Naomi, grandson Nickolas; and her sweet, loyal Yorkie Jake. Carol has a loving sister Sharon Heil and brother-in-law George Heil, and loving soul-sister Marie Kobilnyk. Carol also has many close friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Carol was a loving, supportive mother. She was a caring friend with a great sense of humor. Carol will be remembered for her love of books, witty personality, intelligence, strength, wisdom, and most of all her extraordianry love for her family. She will truly be missed dearly by many. As one of her famous quotes goes, Carol knew how to "dance in the rain", and she did it well. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday 7/8/17 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brick. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations can be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church of Brick, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
