Carmella "Carole" Del Pizzo

Carmella (Carole) Angel Del Pizzo (Nee Battaglia) of Neptune New Jersey passed away on Tuesday December 13, 2022 in her home with her family by her side. Carole was born Easter Monday April 2, 1934. Carole was the middle child of Fabio and Julia Battaglia of Neptune New Jersey. Carole graduated from Whitesville Grammar School in 1948 and Neptune Senior High School in 1952; she sang in the chorus, played the piano and participated in many sports. Carole married the love of her life, Frances Gerald Del Pizzo on July 13, 1952; they lived a happy, wonderful life for 64 years. Her family was her main priority, she was always very loving and caring while raising her children and sharing these qualities with extended family. Carole had many interests in her life, she read often, sewed her own and family’s clothes, gardening, cooking, baking, avid exerciser and she was artistic and very creative with all she touched.

Carole helped her parents run the family construction company along with her husband and her two brothers. After retiring the family business, Carole was employed at JC Penny of Eatontown NJ in the drapery and furniture departments.

Carole was predeceased by her husband Frank, parents Julia & Fabio Battaglia Sr, in-laws Joseph and Catherine Del Pizzo, brother Nicholas Battaglia Sr, sister-in-laws Beverly Battaglia, Maria Battaglia, brother-in-law Anthony Del Pizzo, nephews Nicholas Battaglia Jr, Gregory Battaglia, son-in-law Arlowayne Peterson and Daniel Vernay.

Carole is survived by brother Fabio Battaglia Jr, children Julia & Vincent Iachetta Sr, Theresa Sigrist, Fred Sigrist Sr, Carole Anne Peterson, Catherine & Peter Reichel, Frank Del Pizzo Jr., Maryellen Del Pizzo, grandchildren Fred Jr. & Nickole Sigrist, Frank & Amanda Iachetta, Vincent Iachetta Jr and Brianne Wickline, Andrew & Amy Sigrist, Christine DeTommaso and Michael Rosenberg, Gregory DeTommaso, Alexander Iachetta, Nicholas Del Pizzo, Gianna Del Pizzo, great grandchildren Peyton, Vivienne, Lucca, Christopher, Camilla, Louis, Lucas, Riley, Jack and Luke and many nieces, nephews and friends who considered Carole their “mother/mom”.

A mass for Carmella will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Asbury Park, NJ on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 10:30 am. There will be a celebration of Carole’s life held at the Neptune City Community Center, 117 3rd Ave. Neptune City from 12 noon till 3pm.
