Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Farrell Geiger Sea Girt - Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Farrell Geiger, 92, formerly of Spring Lake, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Newark, NJ and raised in West Orange, NJ. She has lived in the shore area since the 1950s. Betty graduated from the Academy of Saint Elizabeth and the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ. She was the first woman to serve on the Spring Lake Borough Council, serving from 1976 -1989. She was also a travel agent in Spring Lake for many years. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack, her parents John J. and Elizabeth (Mulvaney) Farrell, sisters Ann Horn, Jane Meyer, and Pat Clark, brothers Jack and Richard, daughter Gretchen Geiger Kelly, and sons-in-law Ronald Clayton and John Stewart. She is survived by her sister Sue Warnick, brother Mike Farrell, her children Mary Beth Clayton, Joan Norkus (Don), Barbara Leddy (Mark), Carol Stewart, Maria Checton (John), Heidi Fay (Kevin), Madeleine Kineavy (Frank), and John J. Geiger III (Joanie), as well as 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 22 at Saint Mark's Church, Sea Girt, NJ. Betty's proudest accomplishment was her family. Contributions in her memory can be made to Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. Development Office, P.O.
