Barbara Lois Seaman, age 86, died peacefully on January 30, 2019, after a long battle with Alzheimers disease.
Barbara always loved fashion and design, and after high school she attended Traphagen School of Design in New York City.
When she graduated, she worked as a fashion illustrator for Steinbachs Department Store. Barbara was a talented watercolor artist, an exhibiting member of the Guild of Creative Art for over 35 years, and belonged to a weekly art group. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and traveling.
On October 30, 1954, she married the love of her life, Joseph X. Seaman, her husband of 48 years.
She was a beloved mother and friend to each of their four children. She cared deeply for all of her family and friends and was always cheerful and loving. Anyone who knew her was touched by her kindness.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph X. Seaman, who passed away in 2002.
Surviving are her four children, Patty Seaman, Karen Donnelly, Tom Seaman, and Diane Simays; her sons-in-law Gervaise Donnelly and Mike Simays; her eight grandchildren, Amanda Simays, Tyler Simays, Adam Simays, Nolan Donnelly, Gus Donnelly, Grace Donnelly, Christopher Seaman, and Gregoire Seaman; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Wickham and Mary Meyer; several cousins and all of her nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, February 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity Chapel, Fair Haven, NJ.
