Barbara Phyllis Newman

Barbara Phyllis Newman age 80 passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026 at Care One in Wall, NJ surrounded by loved ones. Barbara was born February 4, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY.

Barbara graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in 1963 in Brooklyn, NY before moving to New Jersey in 1984.

Barbara spent meany years working as a medical assistant. She enjoyed doing hair and make-up for special occasions. She had a passion for cooking and her love for her fur babies Molly and Trixie.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents Sylvia and Joseph Shapiro and her sister Adrienne Nasofer.

She is survived by her son Jason (Jay) and his wife Barbi Newman, her grandkids Tyler and Marshall Newman, John Hochman, and Michael and Haley Fay (NJ). She also leaves behind her former husband Larry Newman of West Palm Beach, Florida and her close friends.

A celebration of life will be followed at a later date.
