Barbara A. Mooney

Barbara A. Mooney, age 85, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2024 at HMH Ocean University Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Barbara was born on May 9, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of the late Timothy and Anne Hayden. She was raised in Jersey City and attended high school at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Hoboken. She met her beloved husband, Richard J. Mooney in Jersey City, and they married in 1957 at St. Aedan’s R. C. Church.

The couple lived in Jersey City for several years before moving to Union, NJ. They lived in Union for over 40 years, where they raised their family of four sons and were long-time members of St. Michael’s R. C. Church. They retired to Toms River, NJ in 2004. Barbara and Richard then moved to Brandywine Living in Toms River together in 2017.

Also predeceasing Barbara were two siblings, Eileen and Timothy and beloved husband of 62 years, Richard in 2019. She is survived by her sons: Michael, Daniel and his wife Lori, Sean and his wife Christine, and Brian and many grandchildren.

Eternal rest at Somerset Hills Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Basking Ridge, NJ.
