Arthur James Davis of Asbury Park, NJ, passed away on November 23, 2018. He was born in Hardaway, Alabama on November 26, 1941, the son of the late John and Ora Belle Davis. He moved with his family to New Jersey at a very young age, eventually settling in Freehold. He graduated from Freehold Borough High School. Shortly thereafter, he met Ruth Scales and from that union a daughter was born.
Spider or Spiderman as he was affectionately referred to by family and friends would later meet and marry Robbie Mae. He confessed his Faith and was baptized on August 26, 2008. He was a member of The Campus at Macedonia in Neptune, NJ. He was a hard worker who worked for Nescafe in Freehold for many years before retiring.
Spider lived a full life as a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He loved being around family and friends, wearing his suits and hats, and laughing and joking around. He touched the hearts and lives of many people.
He became ill a few years ago. He fought a good fight before finally going to his eternal home to be with our Lord and Savior, his parents, his wife, two sisters Frances and Betty Jean, three brothers Earl, Donald, and John, and a son-in-law Lawrence Keys.
He is survived by a daughter Robyn Keys, Keansburg, NJ, a sister Ophelia Davis, Neptune, a brother William Davis, Asbury Park, three step-daughters Wanda Marshall, Toms River, NJ, Loretta Scales, East Orange, NJ, Wendy Scales, Allentown, PA, a step-son Terrance Scales, Allentown, PA, one grandchild Quray Keys (Ashley), Middletown, NJ, many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of family and friends. He will truly be missed.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at The Campus at Macedonia, 1924 Heck Ave., Neptune, NJ.
