Anita Karleen Gallo, better known by her family and friends as Gigi, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away at the age of 79 on July 25, 2026, at Complete Care at Laurelton in Brick Township, NJ.

In her final days she was surrounded by family and friends. Born on July 28, 1946, she was the cherished daughter of James Godfrey Day and Mary Elizabeth Prosseda

Anita was pre-deceased by her parents, two brothers, Ricky and James Day, her ex-husband Vincent Louis Gallo, and her stepmother, Leona Day. She leaves behind a loving family that includes her two sons, Dominick Gallo and his wife Rita of Ten Mile, TN, and Mark Gallo and his wife Sheryl of Brick, NJ. Her three grandchildren, whom she adored, are Vincent Gallo of Crown King, AZ, Nicholas Gallo and his fiancée Christa Kennedy of Ten Mile, TN, and Dominick A. Gallo and his wife Khyla, along with her great-grandson Ledger Louis, also of Ten Mile, TN. Anita is also survived by her three sisters: Bonnie Struening of Manchester, NJ, Donna Pitt of Springfield, MA, and Lisa Behre of East Hanover, NJ, as well as her two step-brothers, John and Mark Larenzano.

Anita dedicated many years to her career, starting at Camp Title as a title searcher in Newton, NJ and later becoming an owner of Patriots Title in Morristown, NJ.

In the later years of her career she worked for Old Dominion Mortgage Company where she continued to demonstrate her strong work ethic and dedication.

A two-time cancer survivor, Anita faced her challenges with remarkable strength and resilience. She was deeply involved in her sons' and grandsons' sports, always there to support them with her signature cowbell, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.

Anita's loving spirit and irreplaceable presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, support, and encouragement will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Anita's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory
