Ana Maria Dombrosky

December 26, 1937 — May 24, 2018

Ana Maria Dombrosky (Lopez) passed away on May 24, 2018, at the age of 80. She was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba and emigrated to the United States in 1960, where she was proud to became an American citizen. Ana sponsored other family members who wanted the same freedom as her. Ana loved to cook and was always feeding family, friends and neighbors. Ana was always ready to lend an ear over a cup of coffee and sweet treat for anyone. Everyone loved her company and her cooking. Ana lived the majority of her life in Woodside, New York. She loved to walk on Steinway Street and greet everyone, eating out and dancing. Ana loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren. We love and miss you we will always remember your kindness and generosity. Ana served as a School Crossing Guard at 50th Street and 31st Ave in Woodside through the 114 Precinct. In later years, she was a Home Healthcare Professional for Sunnyside Citywide Healthcare Services. She is survived by her four children; Peter J. Giraldo and wife Judy of Toms River, NJ; Mary Ann Funk and husband Neal of Merritt Island, FL; Daphne D. Piette of Rockville Centre, NY; Sylvester G. Dombrosky, Jr. and wife Lidice of East Meadow, NY; as well as 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents; Fernando Lopez and Maria Delfina Leon; and two brothers; Fernando D. Lopez and Raul Lopez. At Ana's request, there will be no calling hours or services. The family will observe a private celebration of life. Services are under the direction of Jersey Shore Cremation Service, 36 Broad Street, Manasquan, NJ
